We have initiated a new position in a lending financial recently in our Special Situation Strategy (see here). The company has undergone complete management overhaul in the last 4yrs and is now looking to sell stake in a subsidiary which will generate cash flows equivalent to ~6% of its market cap. The world over, there is a race to gain access to critical minerals. “Last month India became part of a select club—the Minerals Security Partnership—formed by the United States to counter China. The MSP includes 13 member states namely Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Sweden, the UK, the US, the European Union, Italy and now India,” Vivek Kelkar writes on Moneycontrol.

India recently translocated 12 cheetahs from South Africa to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh as part of an ambitious project to reintroduce the big cats after they went extinct in India in the 1950s. However, it is facing setbacks. Experts say these deaths could have been avoided, and that they reflect poor planning and preparation.
